Control
Delivery Facility in Watertown
Undergoes
Major Renovation & Expansion
Braintree, MA—Integrated Builders was chosen as the
construction manager for the 40,000 square foot, $8M
renovation/expansion of Control Delivery’s facility at 400 Pleasant
Street in Watertown, Massachusetts. The architect and engineer for the project is SMRT, Inc. of South
Portland, Maine.
The multi-phased project will encompass the renovation of the existing
facility’s manufacturing space into pharmaceutical grade labs, clean
rooms and production areas. The
project also involves a 4,000 square foot expansion to the building that
will comprise of office space, a cafeteria and gymnasium, conference
rooms, and all new mechanical and electrical systems.
Founded in 1991, Control Delivery Systems, Inc. developed their first
patented sustained-release, drug-delivery system — the Aeon™ system
— that is designed to deliver precise quantities of drugs to
difficult-to-treat areas of the body. Their unique technology enables
the release of medication at a controlled rate directly to the intended
site for an extended duration. The
Aeon™ system has already shown to be highly effective in the treatment
of vision threatening eye disease. Today, the company is expanding its
product pipeline to encompass other eye diseases and degenerative
