Integrated Builders Awarded Construction of new middle school-
St. philomena in Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Braintree, MA—The Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus have awarded Integrated Builders the ground-up construction project of their new middle school, St. Philomena in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.  Located on 324 Cory’s Lane, the new facility will be approximately 24,000 square feet, and will be exclusively used to house grades 6 through 8.  Today, the student population of approximately 450 students, ranging from grades K through 8, is within one facility.

Founded in 1953, the campus has evolved over the years to meet the students' needs.  Near the scenic Narragansett Bay, the one-building school has expanded to become one of the finest facilities in the area.  With the addition of the middle school, its large campus setting will now have six buildings.  Plans for the new school include a state of the art amphitheater, eight classrooms, teachers’ offices, a large common room, and administrative areas.

Newport Collaborative Architects of Newport, Rhode Island will the handle architectural design, while engineering services have been awarded to Building Engineering Resources.  The value of the project is   $3 million.  Construction is slated to begin by the end of November with completion scheduled for the summer of 2004.
